The new Health Sciences building consisting of 46,000 square feet will enable JSCC to combine their various health science programs into one facility. The building has seven different types of laboratories, each with its own connected large storage room and separate classroom. The labs range from a fully-equipped medical laboratory to a state-of-the-art functional x-ray laboratory. The new building allows an interdisciplinary approach to the various programs, facilitating realistic multidisciplinary clinical training and education for all levels of health care providers. This building was designed under the State of Tennessee Sustainable Design Guidelines with multiple sustainable features, including a geothermal mechanical system.
